I have been trying to get an FFL for years, tried, and tried.  Special note - before you order an FFL license kit and waste your money - Call your local zoning office and inquire.
Zoning Answer:  Sorry, there is no trade, sale, or repair of a commodity in a residential area.  You will need a store front in a commercial area.
